Summary
Harriet Craig, to all outward appearances, is a devoted wife and homemaker. But beneath the surface of her meticulously kept, richly appointed mansion, Harriet is a neurotic perfectionist and a stickler for absolute cleanliness. Her servants are kept on their toes by her shrewish orders and she will stop at nothing to ensure no one upsets the status quo of her complacent life with her husband Walter. When it appears that Walter will be promoted and travelling abroad on business, Harriet springs into action to squelch his plans. Harriet's monstrous selfishness and essential heatred of men, a syndrome initiated in girlhood when her father abandoned Harriet and her mother, at last becomes obvious to Walter. In a dramatic final confrontation, Walter finally realizes he too was just another possession in Harriet's loveless, life-size dollhouse
